What we store, and why. When you complete the assessment, your answers and derived scores are stored on our servers under an anonymous code — a short string such as X4QJ8M-7VTBYK-2ZWPQH. The code is generated at the moment you finish the assessment and is the only identifier associated with your profile. We do not store your name, email address, IP address, location, or any other identifying information alongside your assessment data.
The code is your credential. Anyone who has your code can view your profile and generate a compatibility report by pairing it with another code. Treat your code like a password: share it only with partners you intend to view your results. If your code is shared publicly, anyone who sees it can access the profile it refers to.
Local cache. For performance and offline use, assessment data is also cached in your browser's localStorage on the device where you took the assessment. This cache stays on your device and is cleared when you clear your browser data or use the "Clear Data" button.
Accounts (optional). If you purchase a compatibility report, we create an account linked to the email address you provide at checkout. The account exists solely to manage your paid reports across devices. Your email is stored alongside a hashed password (never in plaintext); we use bcrypt or equivalent. We do not link your account to your assessment data — the account knows which reports you paid for, not what your answers were. We use your email only to send password reset links and payment receipts.
First names on reports. When you purchase a compatibility report, you may optionally provide first names for yourself and your partner. These names appear only in your report and your account dashboard. They are never linked to the anonymous assessment data — they live on the purchase record, not the profile record.
Payments. We process payments through Stripe. When you purchase a report, Stripe collects your payment information directly; we never see your card number. Stripe may collect additional information subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. We receive only a payment confirmation and a session ID from Stripe, which we use to unlock your paid report.
Analytics. We store aggregate, anonymous counts — how many codes are generated, how many reports are purchased, the distribution of archetypes — to understand product usage. These counts cannot be traced back to individuals and contain no identifying information.
Third-party services. We load fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Google may collect limited technical information (IP address, browser type) in connection with font delivery, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We use Stripe for payments and Cloudflare for infrastructure; both may process limited technical information to deliver the service. We do not use analytics networks, advertising networks, or tracking pixels.
Cookies. We set a session cookie when you log into an account, used only to keep you logged in. We do not set tracking or advertising cookies.
Data retention. Profiles (assessment data) are retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. Account records are retained as long as the account is active. Paid report records are retained indefinitely to preserve your access to reports you purchased. You may delete your data at any time.
Deleting your data. To delete a profile, paste its code into the "Delete Data" form on your results page and confirm. To delete your account and all associated purchase records, use the "Delete Account" option in your account dashboard. Deletion is immediate and permanent — we have no way to recover it. Deleting your account does not delete profiles you created — profiles are keyed by code, not by account. If you want to delete both, delete the profiles first, then the account.
Data requests. You may request a copy of your data, or request its deletion, at any time by emailing the address listed in the Contact section. We will respond within 30 days.
Children. Grounded Pillars is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
International users. Grounded Pillars is operated from the United States and data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure. If you are accessing the service from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and storage of your data in the United States.
Changes to this policy. We will update this page and revise the effective date when we make material changes. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
The self-assessment is free. You can complete the full assessment, see your archetype, and review your complete profile without creating an account or paying anything.
Compatibility reports require payment. When two people have completed the assessment, they can generate a compatibility report. Reports are priced per couple, one-time:
One purchase per couple. A compatibility report is tied to the specific pair of codes used to generate it. Either partner can pay. Once purchased, both partners can access the report from any device, any time, by pasting both codes into the compatibility screen. No login is required to view a purchased report — the codes are the access.
Accounts. At checkout, you may create an account using your email address and a password. Your account lets you view your purchase history, access reports from any device without pasting codes, and upgrade reports from Standard to Deep. Accounts are optional — you can access your purchased report by pasting both codes even without an account.
Upgrades. If you purchase a Standard Report and later want the Deep Report for the same couple, you can upgrade for the $20 difference. Upgrades are processed through your account dashboard.
Retaking the assessment. If either partner retakes the assessment, a new code is generated. A compatibility report purchased against the old codes does not automatically cover new codes — a new report requires a new purchase. This is intentional: your results reflect a specific moment in time and your profile when that code was generated.
Chargebacks. We take chargebacks seriously. If you dispute a charge through your bank or card issuer for a report that has been delivered, we may revoke access to that report and may decline future purchases from the same payment method.
By using Grounded Pillars, you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Permitted use. Grounded Pillars is provided for personal, non-commercial self-reflection and relationship preparation purposes. You may use the assessment, share your result code with a partner, and generate compatibility reports for relationships you are personally involved in.
Prohibited uses. You may not:
Account security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately. We recommend using a unique password that you do not use on other sites.
Code security. Your result code grants access to your profile. Treat it as sensitive. We cannot prevent someone who has your code from viewing your profile. If your code is compromised, you can retake the assessment to generate a new code and delete the old profile.
No warranties. Grounded Pillars is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that results will be accurate for any particular purpose.
Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Grounded Pillars and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on any results produced by it. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Changes to terms. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the updated date at the top of this page.
Important: Grounded Pillars is a self-reflection tool. It is not a clinical instrument and is not designed or validated for diagnostic, clinical, or legal use.
Not a clinical assessment. The instruments used in Grounded Pillars — including the adapted Big Five, attachment style measures, love language indicators, conflict style measures, and Hartman Color Code — are either adapted from validated research instruments or derived from established psychometric frameworks. They are presented in a self-report format designed for personal insight, not clinical evaluation.
Not a substitute for professional advice. Results from this assessment do not constitute psychological, psychiatric, medical, legal, or financial advice. If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, relationship distress, or other personal crises, please consult a qualified professional. A therapist, counselor, or psychologist can provide individualized support that no self-report assessment can replicate.
Results are probabilistic, not deterministic. Assessment results reflect tendencies and patterns, not fixed traits. People change. Circumstances change. A result from today is a snapshot, not a verdict. Compatibility scores are estimates based on broad psychometric patterns — they are not predictions of relationship success or failure.
Derived and estimated scores. Some scores in the free assessment (including True Colors, Color Code, and MBTI estimates) are algorithmically derived from Big Five dimensions rather than measured by direct questionnaire. These scores carry moderate validity and are clearly labeled as estimates. The Deep Dive assessment replaces these estimates with direct-measurement instruments where possible.
Not validated for high-stakes decisions. Do not use Grounded Pillars results to make employment decisions, custody determinations, clinical diagnoses, or any other consequential judgments about yourself or others. The assessment is not designed, validated, or appropriate for these purposes.
Attachment theory context. Attachment style categories (Secure, Anxious, Avoidant, Disorganized) are grounded in established developmental psychology research. However, attachment is a spectrum — most people show elements of multiple styles. The category assigned reflects your dominant pattern based on self-report, not a clinical evaluation by a trained professional.
Grounded Pillars is built on or derived from the following published, peer-reviewed instruments. All are used for non-commercial, educational, self-reflection purposes consistent with academic fair use. Original authorship is retained and cited.
